Harland and Wolff's Methil shipyard

CCS was commissioned to design, install, and commission a Zone 1 electrical system for Harland and Wolff's Methil shipyard in Scotland, specifically for their spray shop. This project followed Harland and Wolff's successful bid to manufacture eight turbine jacket foundations for the NNG Wind Farm. The client required a Zone 1 CompEx-compliant workshop to ensure safety in potentially explosive environments.

CCS’s in-house electrical team designed the facility to meet CompEx regulations. The installation included:

Mains and 110v power, with distribution boards located in a safe zone outside the building
ATEX-rated internal lighting, emergency lighting, and 110v outlets, ensuring a fully compliant, safe, and efficient workspace for the spray shop.
